Ekaterina did not casually mention hotels in the context of their multifunctionality: speaking about trends, she believes that the proper service approach will make it possible to diversify leisure activities even for tourists travelling alone. She suggests paying special attention to the construction of hotel facilities equipped with large-capacity conference halls: "Business tourism in Moscow has always been among the leading industries, and we intend to continue its development". However, the Moscow government is also working on the event and gastronomic agenda.
Under the conditions of the current key rate and forecasts of its increase, investors can be assisted by support measures, which were described at the forum by Alimbek Khidzev, Director of the Tourism Development Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. Among the most large-scale he mentioned the program of subsidizing the preferential credit rate: "Its final rate for an investor is the basic 3% plus 30% of the current key rate. The program is in demand and enjoys attention in the industry, especially since its support conditions have recently been updated and expanded.
It is important to take into account not only the capital’s industry trends in order to develop the tourism industry in the country. The Forum participants asked Aleksei Volkov, President of the All-National Union of the Hospitality Industry, how the industry will be developing at the federal level. According to his forecasts, Sochi will face overbooking in the coming season due to the recent events in Anapa. Aleksei also confirmed the growing popularity of such a travel destination as the North Caucasus — its attendance figures have increased by 30%.
However, Volkov does not recommend to stop at this point: "It is important to search for and develop new destinations — this will allow for a more efficient distribution of tourist flows. It is also necessary to increase the attractiveness of those regions where the travel industry is still underdeveloped. According to Volkov, an integrated approach will help, because today travelers pay more attention to impressions and emotions than to the choice of hotel. "For us, return tourism is the most valuable and important, so an infrastructure should be created around the hotel," he explains.
